Inscription - John Hope tenant Glennowcher 22-11-1745 aged 44, son John died Troloss 17-12-1781 aged 54, third son James tenant Glenlee Mains 1-8-1793 aged 61 (Wife Jane Proudfoot died Glenll 10-1-1824 at advanced age, first son Dr John died Demerara 12.8.1804, third son Robt/Glenlee 20-11-1826 buried kells churchyard, second daughter Margaret wife of James Hyslop/Glenlee 1.2.1836 buried Dunrod Galloway.   (Repaired by youngest son Rev Charles Hope of Lamington 1839)

Note.   Glennowcher must be Glenochar in Crawford Parish.   Troloss is also in Crawford Parish.   Glenlee is near Kells in Galloway - Ed.
