Polmood Bridge.
The Polmood Bridge over the River Tweed is just a couple of metres into Drumelzier Parish from Tweedsmuir Parish and gives acess to Polmood House. The bridge is listed as category C No. LB43851 by Historic Environment Scotland. The pediments to the stone pillars - four pillars at each end - are a striking feature of the bridge. The site is noted on Canmore ID 230837.
The bridge replaced a ford at the same point c1889 for more about this see page Polmood House.
Gates at the entrance of the property were probably added at the same time as the bridge just beyond the gates.
